In our present time, people often call out, “Oh, my God,” in just about any circumstance, situation, and occasion. However, these people forget another of God’s Ten Commandments: “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain” (Exodus 20:7).
We must refrain from using words “Oh My God” or “OMG”. God Forbid.
We must call upon the name JESUS.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10).
“Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God” (Psalm 50:23).
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus: who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” (1 Timothy 2:5–6).
“For God so loved the world, that [HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD] not perish, but [HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE]. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be [SAVED]” (John 3:16-17).
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a [NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME]: That at the [NAME OF JESUS] every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
Therefore, we are to make good use of the time of our lifetime. We should call on the Father in the name of his only begotten Son Jesus, who without respect of persons judges according to everyone’s work; we should pass our time sojourning here in fear; and to live by the knowledge of the word of God (1 Peter 1:17) (James 2:1).
“For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For [WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED]” (Romans 10:12-13).
