In 2019 we must continue to take up DAILY the cross of Jesus Christ because he says: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross [DAILY], and follow me” (Luke 9:24).
“And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:38).
“For it is written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.’ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1 Corinthians 1:18–19, 21).
“The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD” (Lamentation 3:24-26).
