“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began” (Luke 1:68-70).
“And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. God sent Jesus to this earth “To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:79): “a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luke 2:32).
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).
