“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me’” (Matthew 16:24).
“And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:38).
“No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).
“Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke 17:32)?
Lot, his wife and two daughters were elected to be saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The angels of God told them, saying: “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed” (Genesis 19:17).
Lot’s wife did not believe EVERY word of God as spoken by the angels of God :…” look not behind thee,…”.. Lot’s wife was disobedient to the word of God; Lot’s wife did not endure to the end and lost her Salvation! Lot’s wife loved life so much in Sodom and Gomorrah that she had to have one last look, but it was not to be, because she turned into a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26).
“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end” (Hebrews 3:12-14).
