“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God” (Psalm 62:11).
God has given his only begotten Son Jesus, all power in heaven and earth to destroy the works of the devil (Matthew 28:18).
“For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. [THE LAST ENEMY THAT SHALL BE DESTROYED IS DEATH]” (1 Corinthians 15:26).
At the beginning of time, Lucifer, the once anointed cherub, the prince of this world, the devil, aka Satan tried to usurp the power, authority and rule of God when he lied to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:2–3).
“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Romans 8:22).
“For the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
The Devil believed that in putting Jesus to death, he would continue to have power over death. However, this was God’s plan to finally destroy death, with the promise of eternal life through his only begotten Son (John 3:16-18, 10:17–18, 14:6).
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; [WHEN HE SHALL HAVE PUT DOWN ALL RULE AND ALL AUTHORITY AND POWER]. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death” (1 Corinthians 15:22-26).
Every day let us live in faith, hope and patience even as Paul encouraged us, saying: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
