How much time until the end?

In generations past, and in this generation, the question is also asked: “When will be the end?” Even the prophet Daniel to whom much was revealed about all the world kingdoms on this earth, saw through the windows of time to the end when he said:

“Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished” (Daniel 12:5-7).

When Jesus came to this earth he said: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36).

Although, only God knows when will be the end, Jesus tells us saying: “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matthew 24:32-33).

What things or what will be the events unfolding around the world or rather what will be the key sign that the world is near an end?

Jesus says: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)” (Matthew 24:15).

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the Kingdom of God is nigh at hand; then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:20, 31, 28).
