None or few of us who are healthy, thanks to God in the name of Jesus, and going about our daily lives think about “fighting for our lives.” Mostly, we are concerned about just being able to make a living in this world. Notwithstanding this fact, we should all be very concerned about “fighting for our lives”.
The question that may be asked is, “If we are healthy, why should we be concerned with ‘fighting for our life?’” The answer is simple; the Apostle Paul said: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
Paul also reminded us, said: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:12-16).
Every day we are alive we must endure, and remind ourselves to do as the Apostle Paul said: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life” (1 Timothy 6:12).
